Youthlinc has changed my life. Going into the service year, I hadn't realized the importance of local service. Through my time at Horizonte Alternative, I was able to understand the importance of giving back to the community. During my time in Kenya, I saw that poverty is everywhere. I had to go all the way to Kenya to realize that poverty exists at home in Salt Lake City. It was an incredible experience, and I can't wait to continue to volunteer in Salt Lake this fall.
