Review for The American Association of University Women, Inc. (AAUW), Washington, DC, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I volunteer for AAUW in a National Committee role, a state board member and hold a local office. I was asked to join AAUW 3 years ago - an organization I knew nothing about, but have grown to love their causes and the individuals who make up the organziation. I see their mission statement advancing the equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research in action. After attending the National Conference in Washington DC in June, I came away energized wanting to do all I could for the organization.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I have followed the legal cases they are fighting to make a difference and see what an impact they have on lives. I see what an impact they are having in STEM programs throughout the country. What great educational programs they offer!

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I would see that the word gets out about AAUW, their mission and what they had to offer.

Role:  Volunteer & I am currently working to help recruit members in our local branch and also working with the fundraising committee.

The museum is a treasure to Maysville and the surrounding communities. The dinosaur exhibit is fabulous! The miniature collection is one of the finest in the world. Stop in and visit the museum - you will not be disappointed.

If I could make changes with this organization, I would develop and extensive marketing program to make individuals aware of it.

Review for The American Association of University Women, Inc. (AAUW), Washington, DC, USA

Rating: 5 stars

AAUW, American Association of University Women, is the most dynamic organization I have ever belonged to. I am so proud to be a member, a State Officer from Kentucky and also a member of the National Fundraising Committee. This organization advances equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research. It's membership has in the past and will continue in the future to break through education and economic barriers so that all women have a fair chance. For 130 years, we have worked towards educational, social, economic, and political equality for women. For more information on becoming a member, please visit AAUW's website: aauw.org.

I just recently returned from the National Convention and learned what I did not know about AAUW. It was a great experience to see and hear AAUW in action from the legal advocacy to lobbying on Capitol Hill.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would find ways to get the word out more on what they are doing. More articles need to be submitted to newspapers, etc. It is a great organization, but had a not been invited to join a few years ago, I did not even know it existed.

No matter how many times I visit the collection, I always find an item I have overlooked. The museum boasts an overall collection that is outstanding. I love it - it is my passion!
