i moved to Florida in January of 2015. i was scared and felt very alone at first. we stayed at my mom's friend's house for a while, maybe two or three weeks and then we had to leave. i was terrified, we had no money, no jobs, and nowhere to go. we bounced around from shelter to shelter for a while and then we found the mission in citrus in April. we weren't residents of citrus county but we were still taken in and almost immediately, i stopped feeling lonely for the first time since we moved to Florida. everyone was extremely friendly and kind and we all just kind of came together and formed a family. we support each other here and if anyone is sad or afraid, it won't be long before they'll be wrapped in a suffocating hug. if anyone were to come upon my situation, i would definitely recommend that they call the mission in citrus.
