Review for Kids In Need Foundation, Roseville, MN, USA
The Kids in Need Foundation was a positive, driving force in my school this year. They provided my classroom with books of poetry, writing supplies, and everything we needed to read, write, publish books of our own poetry to be distributed throughout our community, and to perform Spoken Word Poetry right in our school. Also, for the first time ever, one of our graduating Seniors performed an original Spoken Word Piece during our graduation ceremony: the theme was "Undefeated." Thanks to nonprofit organizations like the Kids in Needs Foundation, at-risk students like mine have access to resources that will empower teachers and students to create learning experiences that both challenge and engage students in studies that truly matter to them, in studies that stimulate them. This school year was such a success. The Kids in Need Foundation helped make this possible. There's a saying that goes, "Where magic is allowed, magic will occur." You helped magic happen this year. Not only did the Kids in Need Foundation bring my students together, providing us with everything we needed to create an unforgettable school year, you are the reason that over the summer, many of my students will continue to meet to read poetry, write poetry, listen to poetry readings, and even perform their own poetry within at community. The Kids in Need Foundation ignited a love of poetry in my classes that will not easily be extinguished. Thank you. I hope you will continue to support my school and to support schools like mine. Education is the great equalizer in life, but not all schools are equal. Great Nonprofits help even the playing field, the "learning field" filling in the gaps for students like my own. Teaching is what I do best and is one of the things I love best in life period. A gift to my students is a gift to me. Thank you.
