Review for Progressive Animal Welfare Society of Bainbridge Island & North Kitsap, Bainbridge Is, WA, USA
My 14 year old cat disappeared while I was moving in to my new place. I had been very cautious when the door was opened and could not figure out how he escaped, but another person reported seeing a cat that matched the description so I had to assume he had escaped.
This cat was a former feral who had been socialized and lived only indoors for 10 years. Knowing how he reacted to new situations, I figured he was hiding deep in some bushes or high in a tree. After an hour of no success in finding him, I did an Internet search for lost pets in the area and was directed to your site. I registered him and resumed looking for him outside while distributing a flyer prepared by my apartment associate. I also went by the animal shelter. The person who I met was immediately helpful and compassionate.
Late Saturday evening I discovered my cat was hiding in a tiny opening I had not seen under a counter. I was relieved that he had not escaped, but had found a safe place to hide during the dusruption of the move.
Thank you to PAWS of Bainbridge and North Kitsap for the website registry that was easy to locate and complete, and for the empathy of your personnel during an extremely stressful experience.
