My husband and I moved to a new home with 2.6 acres complete with fenced pasture and barn. In our search for "pasture pets" we met Kathy Dean and Longhopes Donkey Shelter. Having never been exposed to donkeys before, the crew at Longhopes made our decision very easy. Our lives have been forever changed adopting two donkeys who are the most wonderful additions to our lives ever thought possible. Kathy has always been there for us as nervous parents and I stand by this organization 100%. That was 1 1/2 years ago. Now I cannot imagine my life without Boyd and Lena. They have taught me so much and are such amazing animals. Thank you Kathy, Allen and all the terrific volunteers for rescuing,rehabilitating and helping such misused and abused gentle creatures of God.
