This groups crafts extreme right-wing cookie cutter legislation behind closed doors and works very hard to get states to enact these laws. Very disappointing that state legislators participate in this
Review for Heartland Institute, Arlington Heights, IL, USA
This organization scores high on ideology, low on facts and credibility.
Review for Virginia Native Plant Society, Richmond, VA, USA
This is a very hard-working nonprofit in Virginia that does terrific education and outreach to inform the public about the value of using native trees, shrubs and flowers.
They have an excellent Facebook page and website -- www.vnps.org.
Review for Wilderness Society, Washington, DC, USA
This organization is doing spectacular work to protect public lands of all kinds, from national wilderness areas to local parks and green spaces in cities and towns. The staffing is lean and their effectiveness is unquestioned.
2014 was a particularly successful year in terms of conservation legislation, coalition building in local regions and other achievements.
Their regional offices in Montana, Maine, Colorado, North Carolina, California, New Mexico, and Arizona are very effective working with local advocates. Their scientists and lobbyists are also very skilled and dedicated.
