Review for Alliance For International Women's Rights, , WA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I have been a volunteer ESL teacher and program coordinator since January 2012 and have loved every minute of it. AIWR is an incredible organization to work with, comprised of amazing women that work tirelessly to provide the girls of Kandahar and Biratnagar with a quality education. The relationship between the volunteer teachers and students is the foundation of the organization's success. Each teacher works with one student to provide tailored tutelage to ensure the student has the best experience possible. Relying solely on the dedication of its volunteers has enabled AIWR to tap into the long-distance learning market and reach thousands of girls across south Asia. AIWR truly is a great non-profit!

I started volunteering with AIWR as an English teacher in 2012. I've enjoyed every moment of my classes with my Afghan student, and of working with the amazing AIWR team around the world. I can attest to the powerful bond teachers form with their students and how life-changing it can be for all those involved. I feel incredibly fortunate to be apart of this phenomenal organization that achieves what countless others only strive to. I began coordinating the morning English class in Afghanistan this past September. Doing so has provided me with a unique opportunity to connect those who share AIWR's mission of empowering women around the world with the young women of Kandahar. It has been an absolute privilege to witness the growth of this organization over the past few years. I am greatly looking forward to seeing what the future holds for the young women of Kandahar who have participated in our program!
