I have been a volunteer teacher for AIWR since 2011, and an English-program coordinator since 2014. My student in Kandahar, Afghanistan and my fellow coordinators have given me knowledge that fundamentally changed me. The program is set up so that with only volunteer coordinators and teachers, dozens of young women in Kandahar are able to learn English each year. The relationships formed between students and teachers are precious and every time, reported as life-changing. AIWR proves that non-profits can be efficient, run on an incredibly low budget, and make a massive impact.
