Review for Healing Art Missions, Granville, OH, USA
Healing Art Missions (HAM) has done so much, not only providing vitally needed medical care to the Haitian community, but investing in that community, providing clean water, dignified and well compensated employment opportunities, locally based medical staff, and generally ensuring that the clinic has not only a vital present but a bright future. I love to give to HAM, because I know how efficient the organization is and that I will get full value for each dollar donated. Bravo, HAM!

Review for Hospice Of Santa Cruz County, Scotts Valley, CA, USA
Everybody who's been helped by Hospice has a special story to share: the Hospice social workers taught me how to encourage my mother to eat. If you're asking yourself whether it's time to call Hospice, it's probably already past time. This blessed organization ensures that you or your loved one experiences the best possible death, surrounded by peace and loving care. Hospice also provides sensitive, personalized grief support, with a special program aimed at grieving children. Other services include pet therapy, music therapy, therapeutic massage, and assistance with advanced directives and other end-of-life documents. With 2 service stations, one in north and one in south county, Hospice's skilled care and sympathetic support is always just a phone call away.
Review for Court Appointed Special Advocates of Santa Cruz County, Watsonville, CA, USA
I have been on a number of non-profit boards, and this one is by far the most focused and best run, with a clear mission and accountability measures to monitor progress toward goal. We leverage the power of volunteers to provide the most vulnerable children in our community with a much needed voice in dependency court and the crucial decisions that affect their lives. CASA is unusual among local non-profits in its financial solvency, both currently and for the future. I attribute this to the strength of the staff and staff leadership, as well as the organization's laser-like focus on its contained but critical mission.
