Review for Generations In Jazz Foundation, Lafayette, CA, USA
lafayette summer music workshop, led by generations in jazz foundation, is an amazing experience for young jazz musicians. My son has attended for about 4 years. each kid, middle school to college age, is placed in a master class with a top-notch practitioner of his/her instrument, and a small jazz combo with students of similar skill level, with another great musician/teacher. teachers come from all over the country. there are electives too, and great food. at the final concert, EVERY kid gets to improv a solo. my son never grows as much musically as during that week every summer. he takes dave martell's ear training class because it's "so hard it makes my brain hurt," and he LOVES it!
