My Nonprofit Reviews

Review for Random Acts, Inc. , Dover, DE, USA
For many years I have donated to Random Acts, and even had the chance to be apart of events like E4K and AMOK. Wonderful events meant to pour love and kindness into communities locally and globally. I have also participated in GISHWHES for 3 years, which is one the RA's largest fund raising events and had the best time being creative, spontaneous and doing weird things for the sake of kindness and art. I encourage anyone to take a look at this amazing charity and all the good they do and have done (Free High School in Nicaragua and the Orphanage in Haiti) and join in with either donations, volunteering, or joining in with events.

I've donated not only money but also time to this wonderful charity, whose purpose is to simply try to make the world a better place by random acts of kindness.
While I've questioned charities like Red Cross and Salvation Army over high overheads and their ethics, this is not something I worry about with Random Acts. They post yearly monies in and out or if you simply email them they will give you the information. Everyone who works with them is a volunteer with a big heart and just wants to brighten someone's day.
I look forward to working with them in the future in their yearly events like AMOK and E4K among other things.
Update -
I'm amazed and the ugliness and vitriol that people choose to foist onto a charity because they don't like, or rather hate, the actor who co-founded it.
I've donated to RA several times and will do it again. This will be my first year participating in gishwhes (Greatest International Scavenger Hunt the World Has Ever Seen) and I'm excited. This one of the main ways RA gets its money to do projects like the Haiti orphanage that also fed many children while they were trying to get the doors open. If you are interested in checking out more projects take a look - http://www.randomacts.org/events/ . They range from simple things like buying someone a coffee or saying something kind to the more challenging project of building a school.
Its a great charity and I would recommend them anyone.
