Review for Shotgun Players Inc, Berkeley, CA, USA
I have been a season subscriber to Shotgun Players for several years. I look forward to their productions which tend to push the envelope-"edgy"-I think would be the current word. The plays performed are often challenging and thought provoking, plus the creative use of a small open stage is remarkable! I usually leave the theater continuing to think about the message(s). The outdoor summer production is fun, usually a bit bawdy, and always a good time! I will continue to subscribe and recommend others do likewise!

Review for Aurora Theatre Company, Berkeley, CA, USA
I first attended Aurora Theatre plays several years ago, when they performed at a smaller theater in a Julia Morgan building in Berkeley; I was impressed then. Since then I have ushered at Aurora in it's newer stage in downtown Berkeley. I enjoy the intimacy of a small theater which gives one the feeling of being a part of the production-as in almost being in the situation being played. The plays that are chosen are intriguing and thought provoking-often with unexpected a humor. I admire the creativity in the use of a small open stage where sets are changed seamlessly and adroitly-in full view of the audience. An evening with Aurora is an evening well spent!
