Review for Dog Warriors Rescue Inc, Willow Spring, NC, USA
I started as a foster for Friends Fur Life Rescue in the late winter of 2014. Didn't take me long to realize this rescue is made up of some of the most compassionate, generous and determined people I've ever met! Friends Fur Life Rescue focuses on dogs at risk and doesn't shy away from difficult cases like Bojangles and Roscoe, the Beagle Bros pictured, who were left at a local shelter. They were not only in terrible physical condition ' both had double ear infections, Bo had severe dermatitis over his entire body and double cherry eyes, but they were broken souls as well. They were terrified and un-socialized, and Roscoe was fear aggressive, although to see them back then, one has to believe he just wanted to protect his brother Bo. A year and half later, after many vet trips, surgery for Bo, and more patience than one can imagine (along with a little training), these guys are happy and healthy! Friends Fur Life Rescue doesn't see age, breed, and physical or medical conditions as a deterrent. They see it as an opportunity to help those who need it most. Time and time again I've seen broken soul dogs come into this rescue and with love and care gain the confidence and strength they need to become great family companions!
Review for Hampshire County Pet Adoption Program Inc, Highview, WV, USA
I adopted the Fiona (formerly Anastasia) from Hampshire County Pet Adoption Program in August of 2012. Ashley and Tracey had rescued Fiona and several other dogs from a horrible local hoarding case. Fiona was terribly un-socialized, missing most of her hair and showed physical signs of trauma. They did such a great job of earning her trust and building a foundation for her to become the happy, smart and outgoing dog she is at home now! Will always be grateful for being able to adopt her - she is such a HUGE part of my life! Have and will continue to recommend Hampshire County Pet Adoption Program to friends and acquaintances!
