Review for Critter Camp Exotic Pet Sanctuary, German Valley, IL, USA

Rating: 5 stars

To see so many different animals in one house, cared for with love and compassion is truly an amazing sight and a joyful sound! To know that these little critters may have died if not for the love and care of Beth.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

developing partnerships with local businesses to help support the animals.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

be begging for help all the time. There is so much work to do, yet there are no complaints or stresses. I would be alsking everyone I met to support this worthy cause.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

learning about the different breeds of animals, and that comercially available food may not be the best nutrition for them.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

kind and compassionate and explained things to me in a way that I could understand.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

build a sanctuary to house the animals and pay for continuing Vet care. It could develop a education center so people could experiene exotic animals before they purchased something that they might not be able to keep.

Ways to make it better...

Critter Camp had the room to house the animals in seperate areas. There is a limit in how many animals that can be cared for, and I would like to see them have that sanctuary they are planning.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

the ammount of space it has. The plans are in plae to build a sanctuary, and funding is needed from orginizations and private individuals to help build this piece of exotic animal care history.

One thing I'd also say is that...

when there is a need, and we are not able to be there in person to help with the work, or purchase the food, then financial support is the next best way to help.

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2008

Role:  Board Member & enjoyed the visit with the critters, and had a chance to broaden my mind about scales, fur and feathers.
