Review for Mano a Mano Family Resource Center, Round Lake Park, IL, USA
In my classes over the past year I have more young mothers who want to understand what their children are saying and how to communicate with their teachers. In an area that is full of gangs and drugs, you can see how concerned these mothers are that their children don’t get involved with the wrong people. This year I had a girl that was only in the country for two weeks and learning English was her main goal. By the end of the class I had learned she was recently married and her husband had gotten a job in Round Lake and they had left friends and family for this new life. I can see the hope in these young people and I know they come to the United States for a better life. This isn’t much different than the immigrants that came before them and made this country great.
