Review for Mano a Mano Family Resource Center, Round Lake Park, IL, USA

Rating: 5 stars

In my classes over the past year I have more young mothers who want to understand what their children are saying and how to communicate with their teachers. In an area that is full of gangs and drugs, you can see how concerned these mothers are that their children don’t get involved with the wrong people. This year I had a girl that was only in the country for two weeks and learning English was her main goal. By the end of the class I had learned she was recently married and her husband had gotten a job in Round Lake and they had left friends and family for this new life. I can see the hope in these young people and I know they come to the United States for a better life. This isn’t much different than the immigrants that came before them and made this country great.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Helping people in the community live a better life.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Encourage the people who have been helped by the skills they learned at Mano a Mano to volunteer to help others.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

I enjoy learning from the people I teach

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

The staff and volunteers at Mano e Mano are very kind and courtious to everyone.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Provide better education in all skill areas.

Ways to make it better...

The ability to provide workbooks for the ESL and Computer students.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Resources both monitary and volunteers

One thing I'd also say is that...

It's the people who have been served by Mano a Mano who are the best resources to help others.

Should this review be counted for a specific campaign?
