Review for Community Artists Collective, Houston, TX, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I have had a long relationship with the Community Artists' Collective. I have never been disappointed in its programming, service or its many exhibitions. I find the Executive Director, Michelle a wonderful and inspiring leader, artist advocate and community and art education visionary. Great care is taken in exhibitions, installations and related events. Emerging artists find guidance and opportunity for growth. Openings are well attended and loaded with fun and networking opportunities. Artists and visitors alike seem to value their experiences at the Community Artists' Collective.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

events and behind the scene activities. The CAC is a great place to volunteer. Work at the CAC is rewarding. People who come there are genuinely pleased and happy with time well spent. The are encouraged to come again and to lend a hand.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the joy and pleasure visitors seem to display each visit to the Collective. I also love knowing the history of the CAC, revealed through the many volumes of photos and documents, carefully assembled in notebooks by Michelle.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

warm and happy to be able to help as volunteers. Most of the staff are also volunteers, since the budget is low. Staff appreciate the skills they gain as volunteers, love working with Michelle, and feel that they are making a contribution

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

provide the cash flow needed to support the permanent funding and guarantee base programming of the CAC, allowing for more innovative growth.
