Review for Tallahassee Museum of History and Natural Science, Inc., Tallahassee, FL, USA

Rating: 5 stars

The Tallahassee Museum is a wonderful place for young and old alike. I visited the Museum as a child and continued as an adult. My son attended camps from age 3-14 has volunteered last year during summer camp. He has a broad knowledge of natural science and I attribute that 100% to the Museum. The staff is dedicated and their love of history and nature shines through. Our family actively supports the Museum and we have received 10 fold what we have put into it. Take time and stroll the grounds, visit the farm, check out the wood burning stove...you too will find the peace and serenity of the Tallahassee Museum.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

teaching children of all ages about local history, animals, plants, and how to live in harmony with our world. My son and nephews have had many experiences that they might have missed. Canoeing by manatees, churning butter, touching snakes, making candles.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

that I have met great people and learned alot myself about our local history. They offer great classes, have interesting exhibits, special events and the restored buildings are wonderful. The museum is a relaxing place to just take a break.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

the best. These are loving, caring individuals that love children and want to share their knowledge. From teaching them to quilt, make butter, weed a garden, identify plants, animals, reptiles, etc. They are enthusiastic!

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

increase the endowment fund significantly!! Construct a collections building and gallery. Purchase surrounding property and acquire more historic buildings. Pay competitive salaries to maintain the wonderful staff.
