Review for Handful Players, San Francisco, CA, USA
Handful Players starts with ordinary young people living in sometimes difficult situations. Once I attended a rehearsal and then a final stage performance by them, the energy and excitement coming from the stage created special moments. Some of these young people came to the stage with some fine musical skills which added to the experience. What was on display was an opportunity for these "players" to be a part of something special, operate as a team of actors, and most importantly, to grow. It is a feel good group.
More Feedback
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
experiencing several live performances that generated energy and joy.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
none
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
seeing young people who very likely would never have an experience in live theater grow in from of my eyes.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
friendly, supportive, and very committed
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
take its time in creating a successful model that could then be exported to other communities, but most of the 10 milllion could be returned to offset our national deficit, as I don't think that much is needed as compared to all the love.
Ways to make it better...
We could get some descriptions about the various players...get to know their journey....perhaps via a written or oral interview.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
building a structure of people to carry on the work of its founder so that it becomes viable on a long term basis even without her.
One thing I'd also say is that...
This is where we need to go as a society in bringing humanity to all of us.
