Review for Root Division, San Francisco, CA, USA
I've known the Root Division folks since the very beginning. They founded the organization with the question, "What do artists need to maintain their practices and contribute to the larger community?" The answer? Artists need reasonably priced studio space, opportunities to exhibit their work and teaching experience. Root Division's model provides these three things to artists. But the real beauty is that the artists also "give back"--through teaching in under-served schools, adult education, and a myriad of events and diverse exhibitions. Root division is true to its mission. It's a great organization.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
many ways: it is a great transitional community for artists who have recently received their BFA or MFA degrees, providing fair-priced studio space and the opportunity to teach and exhibit work. RD is a vital exhibition space for emerging artists.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
the ongoing, thriving community of artists. RD's mission is fulfilled every day in tangible ways.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
Buy a great building with plenty of space for studios, exhibitions and teaching.
