I love IndyKids, as a donor I know that the folks who run it care deeply about helping young people look at their world in an engaged, creative, and critical way. As a newspaper, there is simply nothing else like it.

My husband and I have a donor-advised fund at NYCT. I also created a fund in my will.

I set it up the donor-advised fund because it made sense for me to give stock with low cost-basis, Much better than using post-tax income for year-end giving. I use their online MyNYCT system to make grants from my fund, very easy. I have also attended educational events they host for donors. There are so many great nonprofits out there, and I feel like they always teach me about new ones. When I created a fund by will, I just went over some simple language with my attorney, and voila! when I die, a percentage of my estate will go to a cause I love.
