Save the Horses is a life changing rescue for horses and the ones who volunteer to care for them. So many people have changed their lifestyles to focus on this cause and i am one of them. My husband and I sold our house and bought a farm to have room to adopt 6 horses and 2 sheep. It is so much more than a rescue, it is a family.

I have volunteered at STH's for over 5 yrs now. I started out with a love for all animals , however, no horse experience to selling our house of 20 yrs. that we raised our 3 boys and buying a trashed foreclosed farmhouse and adopting 3 horses and lamb from this wonderful rescue. I have watched so many people walk through the front gates to volunteer to help these abused and abandoned animals and end up these animals have rescued them. Cheryl has opened her gates and allows people to come and find not only a place to help the horses, but a place that becomes part of their lives.

Save the Horses continues to rescue, heal and rehome horses to good homes and touch the people who come in contact with them. An all volunteer rescue, all donation go to save, heal, and house the horses until they can find loving homes for them. They also take the opportunity to let the horses help touch the lives of children and adults dealing with physical and emotional issues any time they are asked or see the need, for they believe these animals have been given a special gift for that. I have been with STH's for over 1 year and in that time I have been inspired to sell my house and buy a farm in Ellijay, Ga. to bring 3 of the horse's to become part of our family. Their have been many other people do the same thing. Cheryl has created an environment the not only saves horses and any animal that needs to be rescued, but it also has given men, woman and children a place to belong, heal and find meaning in life. Cheryl works right along side the volunteers and gives the freedom to find our place there. Thank you Cheryl for that.
