"My Hero" project gave my students (9-12 grade) the chance to have a better understanding of what a hero means from different perspectives and to improve not only their knowledge about Romanian heroes from different fields, but also important personalities from other countries. The project work gave them the possibility to develop different skills: team work, reading and writing in English, research, express their opinions and bringing arguments, etc.
For me it was a great teaching resource, I could easily integrate it in curriculum at my English classes, adapting it to all levels, and also gave me the a good possibility to evaluate my students' work and make it visible for a large audience, which was very motivating and stimulating for students. I will certainly continue to work in "My Hero" project and will encourage my colleagues to get involved even younger students in the project work.

I am Cornelia Platon, a teacher of English at "Alexandru Papiu Ilarian" Highschool Dej, Romania and I have partcipated in My Hero project for many times during the years. I have integrated the project into curriculum at my English classes, giving my students the opportunity to collaborate with other students from around the world. Working in this project is very important for developing the students' writing and reading skills, also for developing their ability of researching information for a specific purpose. I consider it works just perfect and I appreciate the fact that the materials made by students are evaluated before being approved, which assures their quality and can be also used as didactic materials for different subjects: history, social sciences, arts, ICT, languages.
