I found PSS when I was homeless with three children. I became homeless as a result of having to run for my life from a very abusive man. He threatened to kill me. I took out a domestic violence restraining order against him. He broke the restraining order by stalking me and doing $1700 worth of damage to my mothers car by taking a hammer to the vehicle. I was damaged with no self esteem. Since then PSS helped me find housing. They also helped me get all of the things I needed for my new apartment. The organization even paid to get my utilities turned on and my first months rent plus deposit. PSS has been an incredible support to my children and I. Housing was the biggest concern I had. But PSS has also made it possible for my children to have Christmas and Thanksgiving. They have helped when my car needed repairs. They have helped pay for childcare, so I could attend school. The organization helped get me some much needed medical care through a local chiropractor. They have provided scholarship opportunities and a pantry. This list goes on and on. PSS is a wonderful program. I do not believe I could have made it this far without them. I am looking at becoming self sufficient very soon. I am on target to complete my education in May of next year. Anyone who is considering giving to this organization truly should not think twice. Just do it!!! The most positive thing I can say about PSS is that the organization helps people who are highly motivated. Participants must be taking steps towards self sufficiency. The support helps make it possible for single parents to survive while pursuing higher education. Thank you PSS! You have truly been a life saver!!!!
