Review for Harvest Bridge, Grove City, PA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

This is how missions should be done. It should be done through the local church in a particular country. Locals know their own people, they know the language, they know the dangers. They know what it is to suffer persecution and can honestly tell non-believers that it really is worth the pain and suffering to follow Jesus. An outsider cannot say that.
I've volunteered with Harvest Bridge over the years and have seen just how effective it is. One of the hardest things about financially supporting missions in a South Asian culture is how corrupt the system is. It is hard to know who is a real Christian, and who is using the label just to get money. But Harvest Bridge has worked to create trusted relationships with people and to build in accountability. This means that every dollar you put into this ministry is being used in the way it should.
I grew up in a missionary family; I've seen the spectrum of ministry approaches. I can safely say that within the world of South Asia, coming alongside indigenous Christians is the most effective and God honoring way to reach people for Christ. Other organizations do this type of ministry, but it is rare to find an organization that can use it's few resources so efficiently.
