Lollypop Farm has a superb reputation in the Rochester community. When I volunteered in the board role in addition to supporting the organization financially, I learned a lot more than I ever expected about the challenges of running a facility that deals with large animal cruelty or neglect cases, has law enforcement responsibilities, and cannot turn an animal away. My first donations were to support Atticus, a resident steer who no one will likely ever adopt--dogs and cats are easy to support compared to horses and cattle. I have found that the leadership and the Board of Lollypop do a superb job of balancing the many demands on the organization's resources and take a close interest in how Lollypop serves the people of Rochester as well as the animals that come through their doors or are seen in the course of law enforcement activities. We all want to do everything we can to continue to help the community rally around helping the animals, as demonstrated by the spirit witnessed at this year's Barktoberfest and the many events held at Lollypop Farm over the course of the year.
