I am a new volunteer to Boston Partners in Education, and I participated in this year's Big Cheese Reads program. Compared to other student mentoring programs, Boston Partners stands out for three reasons: the unusual dedication and engagement of their volunteers, who range from retirees to corporate executives to City Councilors; the number of opportunities they make available, from in-classroom to after-school programs; and the measurable impact they have on improving the academic lives and outcomes in Boston Public Schools. They are well regarded throughout the City and their annual gala attracts a Who's Who of Boston business and government leaders.
