My Nonprofit Reviews

Review for Point Hope Inc, Port Orchard, WA, USA
I came into this organization 9 years ago because my college friend, Delilah, told me God had moved her to start a nonprofit that would be a voice for forgotten children. She asked me and my husband to travel to Ghsna, West Africa, to see for ourselves the work Point Hope was doing. We volunteered our time and resources to do that.
We landed and pretty much went directly to a refugee camp located in a village called Buduburam. I saw the fresh, clean water flowing out of spigots. I heard stories from the Liberian refugees about the miracles in their lives that this water Delilah and Point Hope had delivered made possible. Lives saved. Hope restored. Purpose provided.
I left Ghana in August 2009 as the same person, but with an entirely new vision, mission and purpose. Since that trip, I added to my volunteer position with Point Hope. I am now the Director of the organization, but I still volunteer a whole lotta hours! I have also returned to Ghana over 30 times, finding plenty to do within ALL of the projects: farming, skills training, entrepreneurial training, early childhood education, nutrition and nutrition education, construction, community outreach, health and wellness, special needs classroom, physical therapy for the disabled, and SO much more.
I do work for Point Hope, but I also am a volunteer and a financial donor. I have recruited my entire family to volunteer and donate to Point Hope, because I know that every dollar we give, every hour we spend, goes to the programs and projects. Delilah donates all the administrative expenses, so the rest of us can give freely and watch our resources reap a harvest of HOPE.
AND Point Hope is busy in the US as well, bringing awareness to our troubled Foster Care system, providing support for other organizations who serve children in foster care, and even hosting events for children and teens in foster care to have a day full of fun and free from worries.
I'd invite you to join the Point Hope family--whether you travel to volunteer in West Africa, start a Point of Hope Chapter and volunteer in your own community, knit or crochet Beanies4Babies, give a monthly donation or financially support the incredibly life-altering work through a one-time gift--you will not regret it!
Review for Point Hope Inc, Port Orchard, WA, USA
Point Hope is a voice for forgotten children in the foster care in the US and for refugees, orphans, and other vulnerables in Ghana, West Africa. The dedication of Point Hope Ghana staff and the volunteers there (including many of the beneficiaries and their families as well as caring, compassionate individuals from other countries) and the volunteers and donors across the US all working together to save lives, provide purpose and restore hope make me very glad to be a partner in this great work of service and blessing.
