Review for Foundation for His Ministry, San Clemente, CA, USA
My first trip to FFHM was in April 2000. I am living proof of the sign on the door at the dining room "You will never be the same". My experience at the Baja mission was the catalyst to a real transformation in my own life. The staff at FFHM are such an example of having tremendous faith, the children who live at the homes are precious (and you would never guess the painful experiences of their past now that they are in a warm, loving environment every day), they do a tremendous amount of outreach to the far reaching community, including visiting many migrant worker camps, having a fire rescue team (the only one for many miles), visiting the children in nearby neighborhoods with the gospel, as well as some milk and peanut butter. Within all of these experiences, the mission is a safe, dare I say holy sanctuary for the visitors/ volunteers who have the blessing to go and serve with them. The water is safe to drink and there are 3 nutritious meals served each day. I've returned to the Baja mission several times, and also served at Morelia and Oaxaca. Each visit has been so special and I've been blessed to bring a few groups of volunteers as well. I've known hundreds of people who have served with FFHM and every person has had such a tremendous experience. If you are considering a worthy organization or a short term mission trip - you've found it. I so look forward to returning to serve with my own family one day.
