Review for The Freecycle Network, Tucson, AZ, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I think Freecycle is a wonderful organization. We have been on the giving end as well as the receiving end of many good items, keeping them out of the landfills. Freecycle is a way to pay it forward, not only for this generation (via items passed along), but for future generations (via keeping the landfills free of usable items) Every organization ill have their nay sayers, snd to them I would ask exactly why they would expend so much energy on something they see as negative. Maybe posting a WANTED for wood to build a bridge would be beneficial.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

seeing items that I would usually toss in the trash go to someone that will still use it. Multiply that by the number of those Freecycling out there and the amount of goods being kept in circulation is amazing.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Have a larger board of directors.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The ability to show my young children how we can save the planet. One item at a time.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

We had a local meet up and met the volunteers and around 300 members of our local group. It was fantastic!

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Spend more money on educational materials etc.

Ways to make it better...

I have had no bad experiences.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

People who are bitter trying to bring it down. If they spent as much time and energy towards their own recycling groups they would be happier. Look at the numbers. The negativity isn't hurting Freecycle, just those projecting it.

One thing I'd also say is that...

We are all in this world together. We are stewards of this great planet and need to leave it to our future generations. Let's not leave them overflowing landfills.

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2010
