I have volunteered with Point Hope for over two years, collecting books and school supplies to send to Ghana. Recently, I had the opportunity to travel to Africa with Point Hope, to meet the people that my donations benefit. It was a great experience to see first-hand the love with which Point Hope carries out its work. I was impressed with the school that Point Hope has renovated, giving children a place to learn; with the skills training program so that adults can learn self-sufficiency; and with the nutrition program that provides healthy meals for malnourished children. Perhaps what touched my heart the most were the stories of how children in the refugee camp are no longer dying for want of clean water, because Point Hope saw the need and built water catchments.
The people of Point Hope are gracious and deeply committed to creating safe and nurturing communities around vulnerable children. They make a tangible difference in the lives of the people they serve. They are a wonderful organization!
