The art lessons are invaluable to homeless children. Comments about their personal situations "slip through" the normal barrier of their own self-consciousness. It is possible to hear about parents going to jail, or hear the experience of a "latch-key" home environment. There are sometimes children who are reticent, or cannot sit quietly, who then become attentive to their creations. By the end of class everyone is excited to share their work. What a great contribution ArtBridge provides!
