Review for Tennessee Women's Theater Project, Nashville, TN, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Tennessee Women's Theater Project provides a voice for female playwrights and actors in a society in which theatre primarily consists of the "male story"--currently only 18% of produced plays in this country are by female playwrights! TWTP seeks to corrects this. TWTP is also a joy to work for; they not only create a nurturing environment for creative freedom and artistic expression from their artists, but they are dedicated to making sure their artists receive a fair wage for their work, even when the company is struggling financially. Their shows are high in calibre, and have brought audiences to tears of joy and laughter. They are a huge asset to the Nashville community and deserve to be recognized.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

watching their fantastic shows, as well as being a part of them!

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

give them money to buy their own space.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Their appreciation for women's creativity and an outlet for the female voice in the arts!

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

dedicated, passionate, professional and kind. A true family.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Finally build its own theatre space instead of depending on renting it!

Ways to make it better...

they had had more resources to hire more technical staff so that the director and her husband wouldn't have to take on more than their share!

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

financial need in this rough economy.

One thing I'd also say is that...

I no longer live in Tennessee and I miss this organization dearly, but still support them from afar as much as possible!
