I became a volunteer at PAWS of Bainbridge Island & North Kitsap at the end of July 2013. I was only planning to volunteer 1 or 2 Saturdays a month. I quickly got addicted and had to get my fix. So I go down every Saturday and have since fall 2013! It is the most rewarding experience I have had. I tell people that the cats are actually helping me more than I am helping them. Working everyday for too many years than I care to count has been stressful for me for various reasons. Volunteering at PAWS on Saturdays has helped me mentally and I have felt like I am making a difference. That has never been the case anywhere. I enjoy the staff that I work with and fellow volunteers.
