PMD continues to be one of the easiest organizations to volunteer for! Sign up for 1 event that lasts a few hours, sign up for a longer event such as a 2-day virtual science bowl, or sign up for multiple events throughout the year. There is no long-term commitment, and everything is very well organized so when you arrive to the event, you are immediately trained and put to work. The work PMD does is very visible and tangible, it's not busy work, so it's great to look around at the end of the day and see what your small team accomplished!

Since PMD is so versatile, they continue to run projects safely amidst a pandemic! Outdoor, community cleanup projects are just one of the many types of projects that PMD is equipped to run, and these are perfect and safe pandemic activities! PMD is also taking all necessary precautions to run safe, indoor projects with masks and social distancing required by all volunteers. PMD is still the best way to get involved and make improvements in your community, and also to meet other like-minded community members!

I like that PMD volunteer projects are very well planned (so run incredibly smoothly), support a variety of good causes, and always explain WHY volunteers are making a difference.

PMD continues to be the best Boston-area organization for all volunteers! Signup is quick and easy, just fill out an online form and you're all set. All opportunities are commitments of only a few hours, no need to dedicate a certain time each week. Projects are very well organized with a dedicated leader to distribute tasks, keep the group on schedule and collect feedback to improve in the future.

PMD organizes volunteer events for everyone! People with limited time to give, college kids, families, and people who want to get more involved or want to volunteer often. PMD is a perfect way to give back and feel great, but you also meet tons of other like-minded people who love giving back!

PMD continues to organize wonderful projects in the Boston area. Because of the wide variety of projects, everyone can find one that interests them so they can give back and have fun while doing it! Projects are always very well organized so that volunteers maximize their time to give back while also learning about the charity they are working with that day. PMD provides great opportunities for volunteers to explore their city, connect with local charities, meet other like-minded Bostonians and most importantly give back to their community.

I volunteered for my first PMD project in October 2014, cooking and serving brunch to about two dozen formerly homeless elderly adults at the Anna Bissonnette House. We prepared a delicious brunch including French toast and fruit salad. The project was extremely fast paced but very well organized with a great timeline of exactly when things need to happen. Since then, I have volunteered countless other times with PMD. One of my favorite things about PMD is the huge variety of projects, and the fact that they require such little time commitment. You just show up, everything is already scheduled and ready to go, and you give a few hours of your time to contribute something great to the community!

I had a great experience with PMD! Working in a kitchen is always chaotic and we were using brand new recipes, but Lori is a great leader and showed us exactly what to do. She was always cheerful even though it was an early start, and she organized us to get the meal out much quicker than we thought! The elders we fed were so grateful for the food and company. I would definitely do it again!
