World Water Relief is an organization with a big mission: to bring clean, safe drinking water along with hygiene education to children in underserved countries. Unsafe water is a leading cause of absenteeism from school due to gastrointestinal illnesses. In addition, the hauling of water - which can take hours each day - is often a task designated to women and children.

World Water Relief is unique in that it not only establishes water filtration systems in communities in need, but it also commits to maintaining the systems for up to ten years - during which time the organization teaches students and their community how to maintain the systems themselves. Having the knowledge and the tools to maintain water systems is a critical success factor for long-term clean water sustainability.

World Water Relief works through local schools and educational systems to directly reach children with its services.
