I am so proud to be involved with PAWS of Bainbridge Island & North Kitsap. I've been on the board for several years and am also a donor and event volunteer. I am most proud of our Safe Harbor program that provides a safe haven for pets when their human families are in crisis. We also expanded our PALS program to incorporate dogs which will allow us to help even more people and animals. PAWS has been helping pets and their people in the North Kitsap area for 41 years! This is a small organization that does extraordinary things in our community!!!

I became involved with PAWS of Bainbridge Island & North Kitsap many years ago when they provided financial assistance to help someone I knew get their dog spayed. At the time, I had no idea that there was an organization in our area that provided financial support for people in need. I became very involved as a volunteer and helped plan events. I joined the BOD and still continue to work on events and raise funds for and awareness about our organization. PAWS is much more than an adoption facility - we have a sanctuary for senior cats (or "unadoptable" cats), we created a pet food bank, we provide financial assistance for low income families, low cost spay-neuter, etc... We also have great working relationships with other non profit organizations in our community. I'm very proud to be a member of this organization.
