This organization has the resources not only to provide support to local agencies and the community, but to form worthwhile projects that eventually become self-sustaining agencies serving the community. JLSA impacts the lives of countless women, children and families in San Antonio, raising money and awareness as well as contributing volunteers to events and programs all across the area. A large focus is also on improving leadership skills within its membership.

This organization saves a lot of animals from "death row" in San Antonio. The staff truly care about the animals' wellbeing and great strides have been made to improve facilities and increase capacity.
