Through ConnecTeach, Bhavani and other current teachers volunteer their time working with teachers in rural or city slum areas around the world. Many of the teachers in villages only have a high school education (or less) and are trying to teach groups of 70+ children with no resources or support.

ConneTeach helps these teachers with pedagogy, understanding the learning process, age appropriate teaching strategies, curriculum resources, behavior management without physical punishment, etc. These trainings are of no cost to the schools and usually last 2 weeks. While working with teaching, they also address some of the UN’s SDGs– while always considering cultural sensitivity.

Bhavani draws no salary for this work and has worked around the world in countries including: India, Uganda, Tanzania, and several countries in the Middle East.

ConnecTeach is a wonderful new NGO with a simple yet highly effective plan to improve education for kids around the world. For very little money, thousands of children can get a better education leading to unknown possibilities! All through easy and proven teaching strategies taught by a high energy, dedicated two-person team. Teachers around the world will see this profession can be fun, student centered and probing… and students will learn to explore knowledge in a deep way, not just memorize it. The program brings teachers and students to life in new and exciting ways in regional areas usually forgotten.
