Review for The Telling Room, Portland, ME, USA
I've been involved with The Telling Room since its creation almost six years ago. From the first workshop they ever held (in the furnace room of the basement at a local public school) to today's programming that reaches over 1,000 Maine kids in a year, this organization has never lost its smart groove or its ability to connect to that sparkly little devil that lives inside all kids: unapologetic creativity. We all have a story, but here in Portland, Maine, it's The Telling Room that celebrates what we have to say and teaches us how to say it better. The world needs a lot more Telling Rooms.
More Feedback
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
workshops, community events, the eyes of young kids coming out of their field trips.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
How incredibly psyched the students are to participate. The quality of work that is produced and the general shiny joy that permeates the organization.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
Cool, talented and smart.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
Teach the world to sing a very different and helpful song. It could reach every English teacher and student in Maine, buy its own space and expand its programming to include adults, too.
