I was looking for a volunteer opportunity when someone told me about equi-ed and how it can help the handicapped. I know how my day improves when I go out to the ranch and 'commune' with the horses so, understood how riding could help not only physically but emotionally. I have now been volunteering for several years, and seen the joy, confidence and physical benefits riding gives to the riders. The English proverb, "There is nothing so good for the inside of a man as the outside of a horse. " is so true.
I'm also impressed with the great care the horses receive and with the horses themselves. It takes a special horse to do their job.

I started volunteering at Equi-Ed a few months ago and find it very rewarding. It is so nice to work with people who care so much about those being served. It's a joy to watch the lessons. I also appreciate the wonderful care given to the horses.
