Review for Mozart Club, Winston-Salem, NC, USA
The Mozart Club has presented Handel's "Messiah" for over 75 years and I have sung in the chorus for over 40 years. It is the high point of the year for me and my family, as I am sure it is for many others in area. The performance is available for any singer who wishes to come to the rehearsals and sing. No Audition Required! We have many singers who have sung this marvelous work for years and a growing number of the younger generations who are learning by doing this performance. The performance is free to the public and we take up a free will offering at intermission in order to help with the costs. In 2005, our great leader and benefactor, Nancy Ann Harris Greenfield, passed away, and we are struggling to meet the cost of this great production. We work on a totally volunteer basis, no one is paid for their services to get this great performance put together. The expenses come from renting Reynolds Auditorium, the cost of the orchestra personnel, the guest soloists and the guest conductor. With out additional support this great tradition will die!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
the good friends I have made over the years. The great guest conductors we have been able to sing under. The camaraderie that envelopes the chorus crosses all religious, racial, and economic barriers.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
The great music and the people we get to meet.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
We have no paid employees, our staff is totally volunteer, and we have some very good people who help with what ever needs done each year.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
Stop begging for money and concentrate on making the performance the best of the last 75,76,77,78,79....years.
