We have adopted a female shepherd mix through ACT, who formally went by the name of Misty. When we went to look at adoptable pets, we brought our other dog with us. The volunteers at ACT knew exactly which dog might be a good match for our family and our dog Jeff. They let Jeff and Misty play together in the yard as long as we needed in order for us to decide to try her out on an "overnight". They let us keep Misty for four days before we decided definitively that she belonged with our family. It was the amount of time we needed to determine if we could handle two large dogs.

Misty had previously been found by someone at the age of four months. When she was found, she had demodectic mange. A volunteer nursed her slowly back to health. It took her a year to find us, her "forever home". We will always be grateful to ACT for their patience and generosity towards our wonderful Misty!

ACT is an extremely caring and professional volunteer organization! They take wonderful care of their rescue animals. We will continue to adopt through ACT.
