Review for San Diego Junior Theatre, San Diego, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I've taken nieces and nephews to many of this organization's productions and we have been WOWed by each and every one. Don't let the name "San Diego JUNIOR Theatre" fool you -- the shows they present aren't what you see at high schools or from neighborhood theater groups. San Diego Junior Theatre professionally produces shows that feature children and teens who are specially trained for being on stage AND behind the scenes. Pros guide them through all aspects of each production. Additionally, many shows feature live music accompaniment performed by experienced musicians. I don't even know the kids who put on the productions, but at the end of each show, I get choked up thinking about how proud their families must be of them for being part of such quality work. Catch just one of their shows, and I have no doubt that you'll go back for more.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

find a way to hire more staff to manage fundraising and publicity.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

seeing how focused young people can be when they're encouraged and adequately guided.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

spirited and dedicated.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

begin moving toward becoming an umbrella org. w/chapters all over the country, increasing appreciation & understanding of the arts among youths. This could also contribute to more youths building self-confidence, & in turn, boost levels of education.

Ways to make it better...

the organization had actual offices for its staff.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

a lack of patrons who are willing and able to cultivate major donors.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

One time
