Review for TRI-STATE BASSET HOUND RESCUE INC, Pennsville, NJ, USA
This nonprofit organization bids on people to "open up their hearts and homes" which my spouse and I decided to do after being owners of pedigrees for years. We decided it was time to give back to those dogs in need. So we seeked out a basset hound rescue, little did we know what we were in for next. Being loving dog parents already we had our hearts set to help and didn't see anything standing in our way of that. We are financially stable, own a home, have an emergency contact near by, we don't board our dogs when we go on vacation and they go everywhere with us. We buy the healthiest dog food we can, same for treats. Our dogs are well behaved and highly trained. During our interview process we were asked if our dogs were spayed and we were honest and said no. This organization denied us due to this, they decided to give up on a home that could've been great for another furbaby due to our personal preferences. This agency claims all dogs are spayed/neutered prior to adoption but still they denied us and it doesn't end at that. The adoption coordinator replies back to my email stating "If you truly understood how many dogs are being euthanized a day, you would not be part of a process of creating more dogs" so because my personal preference of the dogs currently in my house I was unable to adopt and help a dog in need (a dog who is spayed/neutered) due to this I don't not believe this nonprofit organization has the animals best interest involved.
