Review for Urban Ed Inc, Washington, DC, USA
Urban Ed is a nonprofit that understands the importance of taking action to combat the growing rate of unskilled and unemployed youth and young adults in Washington, DC. I have volunteered and served on the board of directors for many years and remain committed to the mission and objectives of the organization. UrbanEd provides its students with a wide range of, not only IT training, but also provides career and leadership training to make their students very successful when they graduate from the Urban Ed program. But these programs need funding and the organization is very reliant on donations from individuals as well as corporations. Unfortunately, donations have been a struggle since the economy has slowed. Urban Ed needs to be able to purchase more updated hardware/software/books so they can expand their current certification training and give students a wider variety in the tech field. They also need additional funding to support hiring more instructors.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
working alongside highly talented, organized, strategic, and committed individuals who want to see the organization continue to succeed. The second area is the students themselves. Watching them grow to greatness with improved self esteem is my reward!
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
well qualified and eager to support the organization and its students.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
duplicate across the world and change the poverty level.
