Review for Goodwill Industries of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

The staff at my local Goodwill donation center are always cheerful and helpful. (I live in Montrose and use the donation site on Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta.) This agency also does great work. Most folks know Goodwill just through their stores, donation centers and trucks, but I found out the purpose of all that "stuff" they collect is to find jobs for people--especially people with disabilities, or welfare recipients, etc. In this economy, goodness knows we can use places like Goodwill that are actually finding jobs for people.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

dropping off stuff at their donation sites and shopping in their stores.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

increase the number of stores and donation centers they have.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the fact that the stuff I donate turns into jobs for local people who are out of work.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

donation center and store staff members: clerks, cashiers

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

put to work a lot of unemployed folks in Southern California

Ways to make it better...

can't think of anything

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

letting the public know what they really do

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every month

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

Role:  General Member of the Public & Dropped off stuff I didn't need at local donation place.
