I am relatively new in the capacity of volunteer to the AHS. At this point I have fostered three furry friends. For the most part my experiences have been rewarding. As I help prepare them for the next step which is adoption.

Meanwhile, the commitment I have observed is such a blessing to these creatures who have suffered in one way or another. The volunteers at these united shelters are tireless in participating in the life saving process. They take positive steps in helping these animals become mentally, physically and socially renewed. The volunteers clean, the kennels and bring in heavy bags of food and donated supplies without any signs of complaint. In addition they ensure the puppies, dogs and cats get the nutrition, human touch, and exercise they may need.

The AHS also puts on continuous fund raisers and adoption functions. They keep the community informed of their great work and needs in order to keep this much needed nonprofit organization running smoothly and saving thousands of animals from sure tragedy.
