Review for Urban Ed Inc, Washington, DC, USA
I've been an employee for over 11 years and I continue to be amazed by the evolution of this organization. Our Executive Director remains steadfast in her quest to “never short change community” and in doing so she provides the best training tools in “all things IT” Information Technology to ensure our graduates are over prepared for the IT workforce. Witnessing the dynamic shift to sustainability when a family member becomes globally certified and employed is simply wonderful to see!
Review for Urban Ed Inc, Washington, DC, USA
I have been a volunteer with Urban Ed for almost 2 years and during that time I have seen lives transformed. Being an HR Manager one hopes to see personal growth in employees but unfortunately most companies fall short in that effort; at Urban Ed students come in to the program feeling down about where they are in life and leave with pride in their hearts, viable skills, ready to be competitive in the job market. Ms. Williams, the heart & soul of Urban Ed, takes an interest in each student no matter their knowledge level and challenge them to do what it takes to get certified; this to me is an investment in our “human resource” which in turn makes for a better community and a better future for our children. On a more personal level, I was laid-off last year and the first thought that came to mind was “now I have more time to give to Urban Ed”. Not only do I have the opportunity to utilize my professional skills to assist this organization in its day to day functions but I get to see personal & professional growth in our students and staff alike.
