Review for Center For Youth Development Through Law, Berkeley, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

You know when you have your life flash before your eyes? My experience was kind of like that, but not in that context. It was so great that everything just went by so fast it was hard to tell and imagine that it was over so soon. I have never known that it could be so astounding and intriguing.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The Internships,I was an intern at City Hall where I had learned a lot about the city of Oakland and how things were handled at City Hall. The courses, the classes in this program helped me acquire many skills that I use even today.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

The staff was always cheerful and helpful; you would hardly see them in a bad mood. They were on point with their material and always was there to listen to you when you needed someone to talk to about whatever came to mind.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Possibly expand and help other underprivilidged students throughout the united states learn more about the justice system or even the way life is.

Ways to make it better...

The funding was increased, I understand that we are in recession, but with a little boost in funds this program will help underprivilidged youth have a better idea of how things work in law as well as life in general.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Funding, without sufficient funding the program can get nowhere and probably flop, but speaking from an underprivilidged student's point of view if there were ways to heko me succeed funding would help this a lot.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every week

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2009

Role:  General Member of the Public & I had heard of this program in school, I was down on my luck at the time and when I researched it and gotten enough of the information of what its main purpose was I had a desire to get in. I had hoped and prayed that I got in. I was an intern at City Hal.
